A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When I am not making art I like to take the opportunity to view it. Seeing what others are creating is always encouraging. I also spend as much time possible with supportive friends and enjoy quiet evenings at home.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art to sort out and make sense of my own thoughts. Often it's a hidden thought, a sort of confession from a part of the soul that no longer wishes to remain silent.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired heavily by my faith and the Word of God. I am also inspired by mental health and my own battle with Anxiety and Depression. My work, sometimes in subtle ways, incorporates these themes.

4. What/who are your influences?

Though they both differ in style and technique from my own, I am influenced by Van Gogh and his use of color to evoke emotion and H.A. Brendekilde for his use of allegory in telling a visual story.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

It may be due to my introverted nature, but I have never fantasied about meeting any specific figure. I just hope to meet the right people at the right moments.
